Differences Between Evenflo Revolve 360, Revolve 360 Slim & Revolve 360 Extend Car Seats
There are now THREE different models of the popular Evenflo Revolve360 Rotating Carseat and there are various “trim levels” that offer different features at different prices. It can get confusing, so we’re going to break it all down for you.
All Revolve360 models have the ability to rotate both rear-facing and forward-facing, unlike some other rotating car seats that only swivel when used rear-facing. We have a fabulous chart that outlines the main differences between each of the Revolve360 models and there is additional info on each model and its various “trim levels” in the summary section below.
Original (OG) Evenflo Gold Revolve360 models have been replaced by an updated version of the original, which is now a Walmart exclusive. The OG models, and the new updated Walmart version, all have a maximum rear-facing weight limit of 40 lbs. and a maximum rear-facing height limit of 40″. The new Extend & Slim models are both rated up to 50 lbs. & 48″ rear-facing.
The Walmart-exclusive R360 model is available in a black/gray fashion called “Amherst”, and a black/gray/pink fashion called “Ainsley”. This base model has hook-style LATCH connectors, which are not as nice as the push-on LATCH connectors found on most of the other R360 models. Swapping the more expensive push-on LATCH connectors for less expensive hook-style connectors makes it possible for Walmart to sell their R360 model at a lower price.
The original GOLD R360 models (pictured below) are rated up to 40 lbs. and 40″ tall rear-facing and have been discontinued.
The names of the original (now discontinued) Revolve fashions are: Moonstone (Gray), Sapphire (Blue), Onyx (Black) & Opal (Pink). The chest clip on these models is black and does NOT offer the SensorSafe feature. This is an important detail to note and you’ll see why as you read on.

The new Revolve360 Extend model is almost identical in size and weight to the original but there are a few important upgrades.

Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Extend with SensorSafe
MSRP $429.99
This Extend model adds a *white* chest clip with SensorSafe technology but lacks the Quick Clean cover found on the other R360 Extend model.
The R360 Extend with SensorSafe comes in 4 fashions: Moonstone, Sapphire, Onyx & Opal.
The reason I pointed out that the chest clip is white? Look at these fashions! If they look and sound familiar it’s because they are very similar to the original R360 model fashions (with black chest clips) that have been discontinued. Don’t confuse the new Extend models with SensorSafe with the original R360 models because the covers look so similar and the fashions have the same names. If it has a white chest clip, it’s a newer model with SensorSafe technology.
If you’re not already familiar with SensorSafe – it’s technology integrated into the chest clip and when the chest clip is buckled (presumably because a child is in the seat), it can send alerts to your phone via an app. Alerts will be triggered if the chest clip becomes unbuckled, if the temperature inside the vehicle is too hot or too cold, if the child is left unattended in the vehicle, or if the child has been seated for too long.
Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Extend with Green & Gentle Fabric
This is the deluxe eco-friendly Revolve360 Extend model that features SensorSafe technology plus Evenflo’s new Green & Gentle fabric which is free of flame-retardant chemicals. This cover is manufactured using 26 recycled plastic bottles. It’s very… green. š±

R360 Slim fashions: Canton & Carver Blue
Revolve360 Slim with Quick Clean Cover
For an extra $20, this upgraded model features a cover with zippers that removes in pieces to make it easier to strip and clean. It also features an optional seat protector insert. Trust me when I tell you that the first time your adorable tiny human covers the car seat with vomit or a diaper blowout, you’ll consider this nominal additional expense the best $20 you’ve ever spent.
The optional seat protector insert included with the R360 Slim Quick Clean cover also provides an extra layer of protection against spills but it does have limitations. It may be used rear-facing up to 50 lbs. but only allowed in the forward-facing position up to 40 lbs.Ā Note: the seat protector insert is separate from the infant head and body cushion inserts which are only allowed to be used rear-facing (and are typically only useful for babies).
MSRP $349

Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Slim with SensorSafe
Gold R360 Slim with *white* chest clip features SensorSafe technology but unfortunately lacks the quick clean cover. This model also features push-on LATCH connectors.

Does the slim version have a Green cover option? Can a child unlatch the sensor buckle easier than the regular buckle? what are your thoughts on the crotch buckle in the slim? Is there away to make it more comfortable for the child without compromising safety?
Hi Sarah. The only version that offers a green version is the Extend with the Green & Gentle fabric. I think being able to open the SensorSafe chest clip depends on the child. I haven’t personally found it any more or less difficult to open than other chest clips. The crotch buckle on the slim is the same as the other versionsādo you have a question about it specifically?
Is the slim version less comfortable for kids because of slim form?
@Manuel, in our experience the Revolve Slim fits most kids comfortably up until about 60 lbs. Wider, stockier kids may start to look a little cramped sooner than thinner kids. If your kid has shoulders like a linebacker than you might be better off in the long run with either the original Revolve All-in-One or the Revolve Extend model. HTH!
Iām interested in purchasing the extend version of the Evenflow. My husband uses my car when he has to car pool to work and He will have to remove the entire car seat and put it in the trunk. Is it very difficult to keep removing the car seat and replacing it? Is it very heavy?
Hi Fiona. The Revolve is in 2 parts, so that reduces the weight a bit since the 2 pieces can be carried separately. Together it weighs about 30 lbs. As for removing it, the more often a carseat is removed and installed, the more likely it is to have an error in installation. It’s not a difficult carseat to install since it has the LockStrong arm to help muscle it in, but he’d need to remember to lock the seat belt and attach the tether each time, and to make sure the carseat is rotated into a locked position.
This may be a situation where a Britax ClickTight convertible or a Graco with SnugLock may be a better choice.
Any idea whether Graco would allow a quick clean cover (purchased separately from them as a replacement part) to be put onto the Slim with SensorSafe? I assume the car seat itself is the same size/shape, they just put a different chest clip when assembling. Trying to think of a hack to get both features!
Hi Lauren. You would have to call Evenflo to get their final approval for that question.
FYI in case anyone else has the same question: Evenflo confirmed that the quick clean cover can be purchased separately and installed on the SensorSafe models š„³
Hi! Is the quick clean cover worth it/ make a huge difference? Deciding between the original and the extend only for this reason. I watched the video of the quick clean cover and it still looks like a lot of steps.
Hi Sara. I absolutely think so! I know it’s a difference of $50 and when you think it’s only for a cover, it’s a big deal! If you’re a person who will be washing your carseat cover, you will appreciate the feature and think it’s money well-spent. If you’re a person who never washes the cover (there are those out there!), skip it or look at the Slim version, which doesn’t give you the booster mode, but is still in the same price range AND still gives you the quick clean cover, if you need to wash it š.
do you by any chance know the depth dimensions of the car seats when they are rear facing and fully reclined? I can’t find it anywhere and would be helpful to see if they will fit my car. Thank you
The comparison picture in this is inaccurate as the original 360 revolve is NOT FAA approved and in that pic its marked as it is.
Hi Marsha. At the time of writing of this article, Evenflo had done the airplane inversion testing for the original Revolve360 and updated their manual for this seat to be FAA-approved. Unfortunately, older seats made prior are still not allowed to be used on planes. Basically, check your labels/manuals. If it says FAA-approved, you’re good to go. Though . . . it’s a massive seat to haul on a plane. š
