Sometimes I feel for my dh. It’s got to be hard for him to always be tripping those size 12s over a booster seat here, a harnessed car seat there. I try to keep them out of the way, but our house has no storage. All of my unused and expired seats are in my ds’s walk-in closet (’cause yeah, like he uses it for clothing 😉 ); there are about 6 seats and parts of boosters in there.
I waited patiently for dh to come home from work the other day and change out of his suit. I was truly afraid the UPS delivery, in combination with the box I already had, would send him over the edge, but he seemed to handle it well, no?
Yoiu guys make my paltry 5 seats for 2 kids seem positively conservative!
ROTFLMAO…. you have too many car seats! I love it!
I love my hubby, just saying.
LOL – well, I guess he should be glad he doesn’t live with me – I get 30 Regents at a time delivered to my home! 😉
ummm…no kids here but have made about 13 carseat purchases a few were gifts. A few expire in Dec. and will be disposed of. I’m not married so no one else gets a say in the money;). My sister & bil have been generous in storing 3 of the seats, however they’re used as travel/back up seats for their kids.
Yes. Yes indeed she does.
On another note, My SafeGuard GO came today. And I got a shipping notice from Britax that my Boulevard is on its way. *looks innocent*
But CarSeatPoncho, don’t you need a Nautilus for sizing purposes so that you can develop a poncho for big kids? 😉
LOL! That was classic. Don’t you feel like Lucy Ricardo, trying to hide the fact that you have bought yet another hat? (“HEEEEEAAAAA-ther??? What have you done?” “But RICKY….!”)
We currently have 2 Apexes and a Compass. I would LOVE to sell/give the Apexes and get a Nauti. The ONLY thing that stops me is having to explain it to my family.
My husband will say, “You realize we’re in a recession, don’t you?” and my 16 yo daughter will say, “You just got H ANOTHER car seat but I can’t get an IPod?”
The kind lady at Learning Curve *did* wave her magic wand . . . The bad thing now is that every time I see the UPS truck, I run to the window, lol!
I think we should feature that awesome pic of Wendy’s attic storage area in a future blog post!
And Cam thought I was bad. Joy only has four seats….
was it a UPS man or the Compass fairy who visited?
LOL I’ve got five leaving the house this weeks (leaving a scant four, two in use and two in storage). I’m down from 14 with just one child. Though many of those 14 were expired. Well, four of them. They’re the ones leaving this week. My husband definitely did a happy dance when I told him that was happening. They weren’t supposed to make the move with us, and when he saw they had come he banned them from the house. And soon they’ll be gone.
In my defense at the moment, the two we have in storage are a RSTV and a Radian, neither of which take up a lot of room. The Parkway is in his car and the Nautilus is in mine, and the rest will be leaving, heading to carseat recycling heaven.
I don’t know if I want to show this to DH or not. On the one hand he will SO sympathize, OTOH, he’ll wonder why they made the move in the first place and why they’re still here.
Heather is not lying about her past. She was positively spartan in her carseat collection (She wanted to use the Nania Airway as a booster, said, “well, I hate to not use it if I have it anyway…”–note to newbies? It was the flimsiest combo seat ever invented, and didn’t even have belt guides :p).
But heh, my DH is the same way, you’d almost think this was a play in one act that all the c-s.org spouses have learned by heart by now 😉
Heh, there’s not a Coccoro in that box ;). But there is another seat in there.
Not so long ago, we used to be a strictly one seat per kid per vehicle family. I don’t know what happened. I really don’t. ~:-O
OOH, I would gladly take that coccoro off your hands;)
KQ, I like the way you think. By your reasoning, I’ll have to buy 7 additional car seats to catch up after baby #3 arrives in October. (Don’t tell DH that though or he’ll flip.)
What a great video! I played it for my DH to show him that he isn’t alone in his suffering. After watching it he said “Only 12? What’s he complaining about?” Then he threatened to make a bonfire out of my collection…
ROTFLOL!
If you have 2 kids and 12 carseats, and I have 3 kids, I guess that justifies the fact that I have 14 or so, huh? In fact I can get 4 more so I have 6 seats per kid.
I’ll have to show that to my husband – maybe your UPS delivery will make him less annoyed when I bring home one or two new (to me) car seats tomorrow … I think that will only bring us up to 11, though, since I’ve given away three. (But I LIKE all the ones we have now, so they’re not going anywhere!)
