They just don’t make ’em like they used to!
I’m currently testing a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. Top crash test results, but the 2nd row middle seat is problematic, to say the least. If only someone made a very narrow backless booster, perhaps one that tapered in back to make it easy to grab buckle stalks. Yes, there’s the BubbleBum, but it’s shallow and doesn’t fit bigger kids well. If only someone made such a seat that offered more thigh support and could be adjusted wider as they grow.
Oh wait. They did.
This throwback isn’t too hard to guess!
I still have the Pretty Paisley armrest covers from my SRC… ah, that was a great great great seat. Maybe now that cars have so much better side impact protection, they could re-release it as ‘a slim seat for the modern car’–maybe with leather to make dads happy? Or toss some bigger headwings on for comfier sleeping. But, yeah, great seat, and so so tall in booster mode. (Of course, I thought it was flimsy and ridiculous when I was buying a booster for my 3 year old in 2001, and I went with the sturdier Recaro Start, hehehe).
Oh pick me pick me!!!!!
My FPSV knock off finally expired….two years ago, I think? I loved that sucker for those awful tight spaces. Wish something comparable would be made.
Congrats! I haven’t used mine in a while, but I might be tempted in a pinch;-)
A backless Britax Star-riser/Comfy! I think I still have one (obviously long-expired) in my garage. It worked perfectly for my narrow 3-across!
