Don’t drive with your dog on your lap!
Be sure to know the basics… changing a tire, jump starting, checking fluids & tire pressure. Basic maintenance & knowledge can go a long way.
Driving tip: Don’t take a nap while you are driving.
When daydreaming at a stoplight from lack of sleep– do NOT go when your 2 or 4-year-old tells you to because they may be looking at the wrong light (i.e. the turn light when you are going straight or vice versa)!
Always secure large loose items(in trunk etc) so that in case of an accident they are not flying hazardous objects that may injury someone.
Safety Driving tip: Keep your eyes open and be aware of whats going on around you. For example, if there is a cop around, dont go speeding past them as your texting or talking on your phone. Not only will you get a ticket for speeding but you will also get a ticket for being on your phone. Two things that wouldnt have happened if you were aware of whats going on!
I make sure to always have a pair of polarized sunglasses in my car! They are great when unexpected glare from the sun hits, and even helps with visibility in the rain.
When you’re taking a long trip, don’t drive overnight, even if you think it’ll be easier because the kids will be asleep. It’s not worth the risk to be too tired to drive! Leave early in the morning after some sleep!
Keep your eyes off that Calvin Klein underwear model’s package on the billboard, Mom. Keep your eyes off the Victoria’s Secret model’s assets, Dad. Happy driving!
No matter what, I try to pack “clean” snacks for my 21 month old daughter for the car. Do you know how gross it would be to clean a banana off of a carseat? I’m sure it would be really bad!
Driving tip – Do not stare at the neighbor’s landscaper while driving no matter how cute he is. You will probably sideswipe the curb. Do feel free to check him out from your bedroom window where he can’t see you oogling over him though!
Love the look of the onboard, and would love to have one for the new little guy coming in May!
Don’t drive and talk on your cell phone, TOO distracting. Also seperate your booster child from a harnessed child if possible, to avoid them accidently unbuckling the harnessed child. HTH! Thanks!
Stay off your cell phone 🙂
Get OFF your phone!!
Check your tire pressure regularly 🙂 Oh, and kids are less distracting if you put the RF in the last row of a mini van and FF in the middle row. If they can’t see each other is much harder to continue the fight 😉
I would love to have this for my great friend who is due in July!
Leave space between you and the next car!
Don’t drive like my mother!
Don’t text & drive
Do not text while driving. While it did cause me to end up becoming a firefighter and a tech, driving into another car at 45 mph and almost killing myself was not the way to try to accomplish that. Keep your eyes on the road
Brown? Doesn’t it have some fancy name like Cafe Latte or LA Sunset?
😉
This seat is great, I’m sure whoever wins it will enjoy it!
No texting while driving
Daydreaming while driving can have you leaning on the brakes a little harder than you would like…
We have a No Throwing rule in the car. Nothing distracts a driver like a tennis shoe hurled by a cranky kiddo (or the bruise that follows if the shoe makes contact). My kids are allowed to laugh, talk, sing, play, color, etc. but if they *throw* anything, the truck stops and someone is in huge trouble!
I love this seat, I wish it was around when I first had Nolan, I would get one for him now if it made sense, but he fits in it still at 19 months!
I would love to get one for my friend who has a tiny 16 lb (preemie) who is 17 months old, and can’t afford a new seat for her, she is in a snugride 22 which is working but getting close for height!
If I had another baby I would go for this one in a second!
Do not try to drive, eat, apply makeup, talk on the phone, and pull two kids apart in the backseat at the same time. That is what parking lots and road shoulders were made for.
