I have this car seat and I would not recommend it…. It moves back and forth in the car since it is only tightened across the child or shield. When I try to tighten it so it does not move my child screams “Its to tight”. You would have to tighten the straps across the child’s stomach so tight that the child would be so uncomfortable they would cry the whole trip. The shield also makes it hard to snack or drink. I have the Kiddy CruiserFix Pro and I love it! My daughter loves it too..
Are there updates to the Kiddy World Plus review and any issues installing in a Toyota Highlander?
Our Kiddy World Plus review has been postponed due to some issues with vehicle incompatibility in shield mode. In the mean time, please check out our forums for some preliminary information http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=226696 . Our Cruiserfix Pro review can be found here https://carseatblog.com/18008/kiddy-cruiserfix-pro-booster-review-der-beste-neue-kindersitz-thats-german-for-check-out-this-awesome-new-booster/ .
@BONEHEADERSS – “true” shield technology has been around for over a decade. Unlike the old cheap shield boosters of the 90’s (which had some serious flaws), the KWP shield and the old Britax Laptop fit snugly against the child so there is no slamming into it. It’s *right there* and the child moves into the shield during a crash. The shield actually absorbs energy which transfers it away from the child and the wider surface area distributes the crash forces more evenly. Personally, I used the Britax Laptop for my oldest son so I would have no issues with using the KWP if it fit my child and my needs.
Am I the only one a afraid to use the shield? I’m just afraid a kid would injure their internal organs in a crash by slamming in the shield. I’m figuring that a 5 point harness car seat would be safer.
The CruiserFix looks sweet. My favorite feature is the adjustable depth of the seat!
Am I the only one who freaked out a little when the kid jumped out from behind the knife? :p
