Safety 1st Incognito Kid-Positioner *Giveaway*

Thanksgiving might be over but we still have plenty of reason to give thanks! After a few unexpected bumps in the road, the Safety 1st Incognito Kid-Positioner is finally in production and Amazon should be fulfilling pre-orders soon. Black will be available first, followed by Light Grey then Dark Grey and Tan.

To celebrate this highly-anticipated release and to share our enthusiasm for this simple but epic new product – we’re giving away FIVE Incognitos this week! That’s right, 5 lucky people will win an Incognito in the color of their choice, thanks to our generous friends at Dorel!

This promotion is now closed. The winners will be announced soon. Thank you for participating!

The Incognito is special because it’s meant to be “the seat after the booster”. It was specifically designed for older kids and Tweens who still need a little help getting the adult seatbelt to fit properly. With its very low profile and covers designed to blend in with vehicle interiors, the Incognito will be more appealing to older kids who may be self-conscious about using a traditional-looking booster. This is extremely important because one of the biggest challenges we face as child safety advocates is getting the message out to parents and kids that they are NOT ready to ditch the booster and move directly to the adult seatbelt by age 8.

The Incognito is rated from 60-120 lbs. and from 47-60″ tall. This product is targeted to kids in the 8-13 age group and the weight and height range reflects that. It really is meant to be “the seat after the booster”. Incognito is made of dense foam so it’s extremely lightweight. It’s firm and supportive but not as hard as sitting on plastic. See Ellie’s Review of the Safety 1st Incognito for more info, pictures and video.

Black and Light Grey should be available by the time winners are announced. If a winner chooses to wait for Dark Grey or Tan, that will be their choice.

Recaro Performance BOOSTER Unboxing & *Giveaway*!

Recaro Performance Booster - ReddWe love exciting new products and our readers love our giveaways so this week we’ve partnered with our generous friends and sponsors at RECARO for a giveaway of one (1) Recaro Performance BOOSTER to a random winner. It’s rated for kids from 30-120 lbs and from 37-61″ tall.  We don’t recommend putting a 30 lbs., 37″ child in a booster since that wouldn’t be Best Practice but technically those are the minimum requirements for using this seat. The Performance BOOSTER is a brand new product from RECARO that includes flexible lower LATCH attachments, racing-inspired SIP with deep head and torso side wings and 11 height positions. It also has comfort foam, luxurious fabrics and dual integrated cupholders with removable liners. Winner has their choice of 7 Performance Booster fashions – Redd, Sapphire, Plum, Vibe, Knight, Marine or Rose.

See our review of the Recaro Performance BOOSTER here! And check out the first peak unboxing video courtesy of Andrea and her awesome family!

Blogiversary Giveaway Finale ~ Diono Radian RXT!

July marked our 5th Blogiversary and we celebrated all month long with 5 awesome giveaways, one for each year we’ve been blogging about carseats and child passenger safety! There was just one problem – we had 6 CR Manufacturers who were all generous enough to partner with us for a giveaway promotion. What an awful problem to have, isn’t it? :P So, instead of declining anyone’s generosity we decided to have a bonus week giveaway. Think of it as the extra candle on our cake, since CarseatBlog actually started unofficially in 2007 with a few test blogs.

Radian RXT - stock photoFor the final week of our Blogiversary Celebration, we’ve partnered with our generous friends at Diono to offer one (1) amazing Radian RXT 3-in-1 convertible.  The random winner will have their choice of select Radian RXT fashions (based on availability at promotion’s end). With its tall shell and 45 lbs. rear-facing weight limit, the Radian RXT is a very popular choice for parents interested in extended rear-facing. It offers excellent rear-facing leg room and the height adjustable headwings provide enhanced side-impact protection. It’s also a narrow seat which makes it a great option for narrow seating positions or tight 3-across scenarios. In the forward-facing position, the Radian RXT is a tall seat with generous weight limits that will last many kids until they’re old enough and mature enough to safely transition to the belt-positioning booster mode. A full review of the Diono Radian RXT can be found HERE. We think highly of this seat and it’s on our list of Recommended Seats.

5 Year Blogiversary Celebration Giveaway ~ Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible!

Maxi Cosi Pria 70 - no tinyfitIt’s our 5th Blogiversary and we’re wrapping up this month-long celebration with a 5th awesome carseat giveaway! We love our dedicated readers and followers and we want to reward you for supporting us throughout these past 5 years!  This week we’ve partnered with our generous Sponsor, Maxi-Cosi, to offer a fabulous Pria 70 convertible. Winner will have their choice of select Pria 70 fashions (pictured below).

This new model is a modification of the original Pria 70 and does not include the TinyFit™ system insert. Since this particular model lacks the additional insert, it isn’t suitable for preemies or small newborns because the lowest harness position measures around 8.5″ and the minimum weight requirement is 9 lbs. This seat is rated from 9-40 lbs rear-facing and from 22-70 lbs forward-facing.

This promotion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated! A winner will be announced soon!

The Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 is an excellent seat for older babies and for extended rear-facing. It offers great rear-facing leg room, ridiculous amounts of padding and Air Protect® Side Impact Technology. In the forward-facing position, it’s a tall seat with great leg support that will last many kids until they’re old enough and mature enough to safely transition to a belt-positioning booster. A full review of the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 can be found HERE. We think highly of the Pria 70 and it’s on our list of Recommended Seats.

Graco Nautilus Combination Carseat with SafetySurround: Blogiversary Giveaway!

When we received the opportunity to give away Graco’s new Nautilus Car Seat featuring Safety Surround Side Impact Protection, we jumped at the chance!  After all, “Graco Nautilus” is one of the top search terms that bring readers to CarseatBlog and to our community forum at Car-Seat.org.  So many of our readers love the Nautilus that we’ve reviewed the Nautilus Elite not once, but twice.  The Safety Surround Side Impact Protection platform represents Graco’s most comprehensive safety for car seats. On their packaging they claim “best head protection,” so we anticipate a nice improvement from the standard Nautilus in our upcoming review of the Nautilus with SafetySurround.  And did you know Graco will soon be using improved buckles on many of their carseats, including Nautilus?

Exclusively at Target for now, it currently sells for $179.99 (MSRP $209.99) and comes in the Atlas fashion, which is neutral, solid black and gray. They also have two fashions available online – Lucky and Berri. The Nautilus is a popular combination seat – with all positions facing forward – it starts out in a 5-point harness and then converts to a highback booster and finally to a backless booster. The Nautilus “3-in-1″ Car Seat with Safety Surround accommodates a child forward facing from 20 – 65 pounds and from 27 – 52 inches tall in the harness mode. Then, in highback booster mode it’s designed for a child from 30 – 100 pounds and from 38 – 57 inches tall. Finally, it can be used in backless booster mode from 40 – 100 pounds and from 40 – 57 inches.

This promotion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated. A winner will be announced soon!

The big news on this seat is the addition of Safety Surround Side Impact Protection. This is a platform that Graco has rolled out in other seats (including TurboBooster with Safety Surround, Head Wise 70 with Safety Surround and My Ride 65 with Safety Surround), and it means that the seat meets both Graco’s Side Impact Testing and Europe’s draft Side Impact Standard. It’s a rigorously crash tested platform and gives children superior side impact protection at each stage of development. Because of all of this, Graco claims that the seat offers the “best” head protection at each stage / mode. Nautilus is engineered and crash tested to meet and exceed US Standard FMVSS213. The Nautilus Car Seat with Safety Surround is packed with the same great features the other members of the Nautilus family have. It has a steel-reinforced frame. It easily adjusts to three recline settings and has a one-hand, adjustable headrest that easily adapts to your growing toddler’s needs. There are two storage compartments (large enough for small toys or games and snacks) and an integrated cup holder. The crotch belt cover is used to keep a hot buckle from touching the child, too.

But what you really want to know is how can you join our giveaway? We know we’ve been years behind the latest giveaway technology, and frankly, have avoided doing so until now in order to give our sponsors a better chance to work with us on giveaway terms and selecting a winner. We also prefer to keep the number of entries a little smaller for most of our giveaways, in order to give a better chance to our loyal readers and feed followers! Nonetheless, we’re going to try this newfangled Rafflecopter thing-a-ma-jig and let you earn extra entries as well by using Facebook and Twitter! We will be using it periodically on some future giveaways, also. The main benefit to you?  Almost everyone with a U.S shipping address is eligible, with exceptions including Heather, Kecia, me and employees of Graco and their related companies/affiliates. Since Rafflecopter selects the winner using Random.org (the same website we use for most of our random giveaways), we trust them to do it right!

To enter, you must leave a comment in response to this blog.  Any ‘ol comment works!  Just say, “Entering” will do.  You are also welcome (but it’s not necessary) to tell us how much you love the Nautilus or Graco in your comment if you wish:-)  Or maybe even tell us a good (clean!) joke.  For extra entries, be sure follow the Rafflecopter instruction and Like our Facebook page and/or tweet about our giveaway to your friends as well!  Since we will probably be getting more entries than normal, Graco is generously allowing us to give away 3, that’s right, THREE Graco Nautili (Nautilae?) with Safety Surround; one Nautilus to each of three separate winners. Our first prize winner will have their choice of fashions among Atlas, Berri and Lucky. Our second prize winner will have their choice of the remaining two fabrics. The third prize winner will get whatever fashion was not selected by the first and second prize winners! If there is any discrepancy, CarseatBlog and/or Graco Baby reserve the right to alter the terms of the contest and distribution of the first, second and third prizes at our own discretion.

This giveaway will close on Sunday evening, July 28th, with winner announced within about 48 hours.  For complete terms and to enter the contest, please see the Rafflecopter information below:
