Let’s Play: Guess the Strap!

This post was written by Kecia on February 3, 2010

Yesterday I was going through a storage box of misc CPS items searching for something and I realized that I have quite the collection of LBB shoulder belt adjuster straps.  I thought it might be fun to play a “guess the strap” game.  Unfortunately, I have nothing of value to offer the person who guesses them all correctly (unless they need one of these straps – LOL) so this game is just for fun.  And that’s assuming there are others who actually think weird stuff like this is “fun”.  Who knows, maybe I’m the only one and I really need to be banished to my own little Island of Misfit CPS Geeks.  But I digress….

To be fair, if the adjuster was marked anywhere with the name of the CR manufacturer – I’ve noted that on the sticky.   Some of them are pretty easy to guess and others are not.  You should be able to click on the pic for a better view.  Good luck!

I’m wanting to say that B is Nania and D is combi or the fisher price safe voyage booster.

hmm, well the only seats I own that have these straps are the FPSV and the Air Booster….
I’ll guess F is the Turbo, E the RightFit which would make C the Big Kid. And I’ll guess A is from the GO because I can’t think of any other SafeGuard seats that could be used as an LBB
Which leaves D – I’m guessing Combi Dakota, and B, which looks more like a type of locking clip to me, hmm, Clek maybe?

Well, none of them are from the FPSV Booster – I carried my son’s backless through six airports by that strap, so I remember it clearly. :D

Elaine got 4 right! And Defrost is correct – none are from the FPSV booster.

Hahaha, cool, I have a tangle of those in my carseat junk box, too. Not sure I know which seats they go to anymore, though, and I won’t even attempt to guess them here ;)

Kat – you’re on the money with your guesses. “D” is from the Strolee Mckinley (aka the Nania/CarseatSpecialty Uno or Polo). Has anyone figured out which seat the “B” strap is from?
Hint – the LBB it came from has a DOM of 8/2005 but is still currently made.

Kecia, I don’t believe you! I think B is a CPS torture device :D . Oh wait, that would actually be a silver metal H. Nevermind ;) .

B is totally torturing me… I KNOW I’ve seen it, but I can’t figure out what seat it was on…

well, I think it might technically be Nania (as it was sold here), but I think Katherine figured out B… tell us, Kecia!

Nope. Sorry. It’s not from the Airway. However, I’ll check my Airway that’s in storage with the rest of the training seats – and if it happens to be the same clip then I’ll give Katherine the credit. But the clip in the picture is from a LBB manufactured in 2005 and still made today.

Well, after doing a little research of my own, I’ve discovered that the LBB that “B” strap belongs to – no longer uses that particular part. I’m not sure when they made the switch but “B” belongs to my Combi Dakota. The display model Dakota at my local BJ’s Club has the same lock-off type part. However, in Julie’s recent review of the Dakota here http://carseatblog.com/?p=2171 it’s obvious that it isn’t the same clip anymore. So, that one was more than a little tricky. Thanks for playing everyone!

A: SafeGuard Go
B: Combi Dakota
C: Evenflo Big Kid
D: Strolee McKinley
E: Evenflo RightFit
F: Graco Turbo

omg… no wonder I couldn’t guess it… I thought combi dakota… I swore it used to be on that… but I couldn’t find any pics to back me up… ah well… I’m glad I won’t be pondering it anymore.

Fun puzzle, though!
