I like reading manuals too-- but the well-written ones are more fun than the poorly-written ones!

I'm another geek. When I get a new seat I lie down on the couch and read the manual for fun. (except with the Marathon-it's attached to the seat-ugh.) I wish every seat came with two (one to keep on the seat, and one for the info drawer). Always enlightening.

I'm not so in love with reading the manuals, but definitely find it a "necessary evil." The summary sheets are great about pointing out the nuances of particular seats... things that often are in the manual, but not always obviousor easy to find.

I'm another "geek" that likes to read manuals. It comes in handy, though, if you're familiar with some of the "quirks" each seat has when you're giving advise, education, etc.
I also find the instructions CD (and the summaries) very useful, especially since not all the manufacturers have their manuals online (or easily accessible online).

I actually enjoy reading through the manual when I get a new carseat. (What a geek, I know.)

And I love love LOVE the Manufacturers' Instructions with Summary Sheets CD from SafetyBeltSafe! I've got the newest version installed on my laptop, with a shortcut to it on my desktop screen. I refer to it several times a week, at least. (Even if all I did was refer to it while helping people on car-seat.org, it would be well worth the $10!)
