Is it a mistake?  I don’t know.

Will it still be this price tomorrow?  Probably not.

But if you’re looking for an awesome deal on a really nice infant carseat – you should probably grab this while you can.

The First Years Via 35  (5-35 lbs) in Spiro Navy for $67.84!

It’s been inching down for a couple weeks. I expect it will either shoot back up, or sell out soon.

If we were going to have another baby, I’d do this in a heartbeat! I really liked our Compass infant seat…and this one fixes the flaws that one had and added some great new features!!!

Okay, I posted yesterday about needing 2 new infant car seats for adoption agency. I was reading that the Keyfit seems like the best for easy of use with and without base, plus fits a newborn well. How does this seat compare? I saw a Via on sale on BRU for today – how does this seat compare – can’t find it on website. Haven’t looked yet for the one on this page.

Okay, now I see that the BRU one is the same brand as the one on this page. BRU one is barely on sale. It looks like you can use seat without base up to 22 lbs. and then you have to use the base up to 35 pounds. How is the non rethreading of harness feature – would be a great feature for the agency! Also important that this seat fits well in multiple late model cars. The big ? I haven’t found an answer to – will this seat hold a newborn that’s 5 or 6 pounds as well as the Keyfit?

I’ve been using one of these for a couple weeks, and I’m working on an in-depth review. I haven’t done measurements yet, so I can’t really answer the question about how it would fit teensy-weensies. It fits my son just fine, but he’s 13 lbs! The bottom slots seem rather high, It does have an insert for babies under 12 lbs. I’ll try to measure and get a small doll in there tomorrow.

Re: the no-rethread harness, it’s very straight-forward and easy to use. It would be great for use with multiple kids.

Re: installation, with LATCH I can’t imagine a problem. I’ll need to report back on installing the base with a seatbelt. The stalks in my Odyssey hit at a weird angle, which might or might not be an issue. Those stalks are fairly long, though. I need to try it again, and also try in a car with shorter belt stalks.

Installing without the base…is a challenge, to put it lightly.

Thanks Jennie! I also can’t comment about harness fit on small newborns but I added the pic of my newborn doll modeling this seat at the ABC expo and as you can see the fit was great. However, that’s a 20″ doll, and is more like an 8-9 lbs newborn.

Okay, I picked up 1 Keyfit today. Now for seat 2… I talked with the director, and she said she typically uses a base. So now I am thinking about the Via. But where is that video I saw of installing the base without latch – can’t find it anywhere and I’ve looked for close to an hour………..

I still need to do some more testing, but my initial conclusion is that this seat is not likely to work well with a premie or very small newborn.
