It’s no secret that we like Britax and we like deals on Britax seats even more. A number of their models are included on our favorites lists and our Recommended Car Seats List. We’ve also reviewed the Frontier and the Boulevard CS. Starting tomorrow, February 1st, Britax is holding another sales event! If you’re in the market for a Britax seat, please check out the deals at our affiliate store Amazon.Com and at our sponsor, Kids-N-Kribs.Com. This sale ends February 15th, so don’t wait too long! Models will be marked down up to a 20% discount off normal prices! I’m told the Britax Marathon will be under $230, the Boulevard under $260, the Boulevard CS under $280 and the Regent under $210!

There’s no question the Regent will accomodate him longer in a 5-point harness. The question is how long you think you can realistically keep him in a harness, given peer pressure and whining and what not. The Frontier has the advantage of side impact protection and converting to a functional booster seat. The only issue is that he may be nearing the harness height limit already, depending how tall he is.
Great information, here…thanks! My son is nearly 5 years old, and just about 60 pounds. For safety reasons, I’d like to keep him in a 5 point harness for as long as possible. I am debating between the Britax Frontier and Regent. They both seem great with similiar specifications. Because we tend to drive long distances for vacations, I would prefer a seat where the little guy could sleep comfortably (in his current Eddie Bauer seat, he tends to slump forward). Any suggestions on which seat to pick? Thanks!!!
Well, I agree that 50% off would have been nicer! At least when you buy one, you know the proceeds are going back to the manufacturing plant in North Carolina and helping our domestic economy. And if you buy from our Amazon store or Kids N Cribs, we get a cut, too! I promise to send my share right back into the economy as I’m purchasing a netbook or ultraportable laptop for blogging and travel:-)
I am disappointed. The sale prices for the Britax seats just don’t seem that good, overall.
Infant carriers and rear-facing convertibles are both acceptable for babies. The main issue is that some may fit small newborns better than others.
I don’t believe Britax sells infant inserts separately, except possibly as replacement parts. Some of their models, like the Boulevard, come with an insert. There’s also a model like the Diplomat, which has the smaller size of the popular Roundabout, but also has side impact protection and an infant insert. Those would be fine choices for an average or larger newborn. For a smaller newborn, an infant seat like the Chicco Keyfit, would be a better choice.
I need to buy a second carseat soon; I am very excited about this sale. Thank you for posting the link. I currently have a Marathon for my 15 month old, we used a bucket carseat until he was a few months old. This time around I would like to avoid the bucket (I mostly disagree with their use), but am uncertain as to how to protect a newborn while using a convertable seat. Does Britax sell infant inserts? What do you recommend?
Thank you.
